What is a QR Code?

Simply put, a QR Code is a Quick Response Code, that when scanned redirects a user to a website, contact or piece of text. There are multiple free applications available now that allow users to both scan and generate QR Codes.

Are you looking to generate a quick QR code for your event to ease your guests experience?

Look no further! (Well, just below....)

We’ve compiled a great list of free QR code generators you can use to direct guests to your event landing pages:

1.  QR Code Generator

This one is very simple and easy to use - just paste the URL of your event into the website and click 'Download'. With the pro version, you can even customize your QR code and add your own logo

2.  QR Code Monkey

With QR Code Monkey, not only can you convert your link into a handy QR code, but you can also customize it for free. All you do is paste your event link and then you can choose the colours, shapes and logo if you want. Then, you click ‘Create QR Code’ to see your masterpiece and if you’re happy with it click any of the download buttons in your desired file format. If you’re not happy with it, that’s fine too, just go back and continue customizing.

3.  Go QR

Another easy-to-use QR Code Generator - just make sure you select 'URL' as the type (that’s the earth icon). Then, paste your event link and choose whether you want to download or embed your generated QR code (they’ll give you the HTML code so you can just insert the code wherever you want, no coding skills required). With Go QR, you can’t add your own logo for free though, but you still can choose your own colours and it's a great option if you’re looking to embed your QR code in an email or on your website.

4.  The QR Code Generator

With this QR Code Generator, just like with the others, all you need to do is select ‘URL’, and then paste your event link into the box provided. At this point, you can choose to shorten your URL or leave it as is, and then you can click ‘Save’ to download your QR code as a PNG, SVG or EPS file. With this option though, you cannot customize colours or add your own logo.

5.  QR Stuff

Last but not least, there’s QR Stuff - now the basic options are all free, but if you want more, you’ll need to subscribe. That being said, without paying, you can still generate a static QR code and change its basic colour. Just select ‘URL’ and then paste the event link where it says Website URL. Under ‘Style’ you can select your desired file type  (PDF, PNG, SVG, EPS, DXF) and colour (change the colour of the ‘dots’). Then scroll back up and press ‘Download QR Code’

And there you have it, you can now send your guests a QR code instead of, or along with, the event link ✨

If you are sending a QR code, just remember to encourage your guests to use a desktop or laptop to get the full Remo experience, as our mobile version is still in beta.
